Texas Lithium Batteries Warranty Policy

Overview

Texas Lithium Batteries guarantees that all Texas Lithium branded Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries purchased from TexasLithiumBatteries.com or authorized distributors, are free from defects in materials or workmanship and operate at 80% of capacity for the 10 years. If the battery fails during the warranty period and is not subject to an exclusion, Texas Lithium Batteries will repair or replace it.

This warranty applies strictly to the first retail purchaser and is non-transferable.

Exclusions of Warranty:

This warranty does not cover damage caused by:

  • Misuse: Exceeding electronics maximum limitations. Over-discharging or under-charging. Blunt force. Submersion in water or any liquid.
  • Incorrect Installation: Loose connections, undersized cables, incorrect series/parallel connections, or reversed polarity.
  • Environmental Damage: Improper storage (extreme temperatures, fire, freezing, water damage). Not using dielectric grease and terminal covers on boats.
  • Improper Maintenance: Terminal maintenance, not charging regularly. Over-discharging.
  • Exceeding Voltage Limits: Connecting batteries in series or parallel.
  • Tampering: Opening, modifying, or altering the battery, BMS or any parts external and internal to the battery.
  • Accidents: Collisions, flooding, dropping.
  • Unintended Use: Using a deep cycle battery for engine starting or exceeding its amp discharge rating.
    • Oversized Inverter/Charger: Using an inverter/charger without manufacturer-approved protection components. Not limited to fuses, diodes, etc.
  • Long-Term Storage without Charging: To maintain warranty validity during long-term storage (+1 year), the battery must undergo a maintenance cycle annually. Users must perform a full 100% charge followed by a discharge to less than 70% to ensure cell stability and prevent permanent capacity loss.
  • Charging in Freezing Temperatures: Don’t charge batteries below 32°F/0°C.
  • Improper Storage: Follow storage guidelines. Do NOT store at a low state of charge ( < 30%).
  • Normal End of Life: Batteries have a limited lifespan based on usage. This warranty doesn’t cover batteries reaching their natural end of life before the warranty period ends. Cycling the battery heavily may shorten its lifespan. We reserve the right to deny claims for batteries at their normal end of life, even within the warranty period.
  • Non-Transferrable.

Disclaimer:

This warranty is the sole warranty provided. We disclaim all other warranties, whether expressed or implied, including those of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Our only responsibility under this warranty is to replace the battery within the warranty period as outlined. We are not liable for any damages, including but not limited to incidental, consequential, or lost profit damages.

Some jurisdictions limit warranty exclusions, so these limitations may not apply to you. This warranty provides specific legal rights, which vary by location. This warranty is governed by Texas law and is the complete agreement between us. No other warranties apply.

If your battery is outside the warranty period or the damage isn’t covered by the warranty, we can still repair it. You will be responsible for shipping costs, parts, and a $135 per hour labor fee.

Battery Lifespan:

The life of your Texas Lithium battery depends on how and where you use it. Our 10-year warranty covers manufacturing defects, meaning we’ll fix any battery issues caused by our production process.

While this warranty ensures your battery is free from manufacturing problems for 10 years, the battery itself could last longer or shorter, depending on its use. Under optimal conditions our LiFePO4 technology is designed for 4,000 to 10,000 charge cycles.

Factors Affecting Battery Lifespan:

  • Positive Factors: Using a lithium-specific charger, slow charging, avoiding freezing temperatures, and lighter loads can extend battery life.
  • Negative Factors: Heavy loads, such as air conditioning or electric vehicles (as listed in exclusions), can shorten battery life. Misuse, like over-discharging, voids the warranty.

Common Issue: Using a battery too small for the application can damage the battery. Always match battery amp discharge rating to the equipment’s maximum draw.
